For the first time in its history, the Laval Rocket reached the American Hockey League Final Four with a 6-5 win in the third overtime against the Rochester Americans and the Canadiens' feeder club swept the series in three games.
Since the start of the playoffs, Primeau has won six of his seven starts and has maintained a 1.93 goals-against average. But perhaps Primeau's most impressive stat is his .936 GAA.
When the Hamilton Bulldogs won the Calder Cup in 2007 with Carey Price in net, Price had a .935 GAA, just one point lower than Primeau's current average.
However, in his team's win in Game 3 against Rochester, he allowed 5 goals, which brought his average down a bit from .949 before that game. Still very impressive for a goalie who hadn't even started the playoffs for the Rocket.
The Rocket is currently waiting for the winner of the series between the Charlotte Checkers and the Springfield Thunderbirds to know their next opponent in the conference final. Charlotte currently leads the series 2-0 and the Eastern Conference Final will be a 4 of 7 series.
