The man who can now officially be considered a true steal of the 2021 NHL draft, Roy went on to have (another) solid 2 goal and 1 assist performance last night, including his team's winning goal in overtime.
The Montreal Canadiens prospect has now amassed 20 points (!) in only 9 games during the current playoffs. A league high.
Some people have fun with the fact that Joshua Roy is considered by many to be a "draft steal", but the evidence is mounting.
Observer Marc-Olivier Beaudoin threw out an interesting trade proposal, to the fans, for fun, and the results are telling:
Well, at the time of writing, 70% of the 3000 or so respondents said NO. They would refuse to trade Joshua Roy, for Hendrix Lapierre (only 14% of respondents would agree)
Lapierre is however a player who had a very solid training camp with the Washington Capitals, is highly regarded there and was drafted in the first round.
We got Roy at the 150th pick. That says a lot about the bargain Montreal got and it says a lot about how fans feel about him.
Would you do it?
Hendrix Lapierre, 20, has 51 points in 40 games this season (21 goals) in the QMJHL and 1 goal in 6 games with the Washington Capitals.
