Carey Price has just announced his decision regarding his risky surgery and he gives the reason
As we reported last week, the only way for Carey Price to attempt a miraculous return to action (aside from an unexpected recovery) is to attempt a very risky surgery, never before attempted on an NHL goalie.
If it works, this risky operation could possibly allow him to attempt a comeback, but if it fails, it could have serious consequences on his physical health.
Until now, we didn't know if Carey would try it, but he just enlightened us, and we understand:

Price says he's spoken to people with a similar injury and that it could take a full year to heal, so he's holding out hope. However, reluctant to have a surgery that would risk his quality of life. -Eric Engels
So we can forget about the idea of another procedure, in the short term, and it makes perfect sense for him too.
