The Colorado Avalanche have secured the services of their star defenseman Cale Makar for six years. He will pocket an annual sum of 9 million dollars per season.
He must have been inspired by the contract that Seth Jones will sign with the Blackhawks, which is $9.5 million annually.
The 22-year-old defenseman is already one of the best defensemen in the NHL, despite his young age. He is coming off a phenomenal 44-point, 8-goal campaign in 44 games, while maintaining a +17 rating.
The former 2019-2020 Calder Trophy winner is not done impressing the field hockey world, as he will only get better.
Joe Sakic just settled a huge issue. However, the Avalanche general manager isn't done with his job, as he'll have to find a way to get along with captain Gabriel Landeskog.
