The first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft is now a thing of the past. We know the identity of who the CH decided to select with their first round pick. It is Logan Mailloux, a right-handed defenseman.
Remember that the young man had withdrawn from the NHL draft, due to the accusations of sexual acts that occurred against him in Sweden, recently...
Remember also that he clearly asked the Bettman circuit formations not to draft him. However, the Canadiens have decided to support the young man in his personal journey, despite everything. You could say it's quite a mandate that the CH has decided to tackle.
The Belle River, Ontario native is a member of the London Knights organization. He did not play any games in 2020-2021 due to the cancellation of the OHL season. The 18-year-old has a very interesting build at 6-foot-3 and 212 pounds, according to HockeyDB.
Mailloux is a versatile defenseman who can bring his share of offense, hence his 69 points in 48 games in 2019-2020 with the London Nationals in the GOJHL.
