If Price does not return with the Canadiens, Kent will absolutely have to find a short-term plan B regarding the situation in the crease.
Marc Denis launched a real bombshell on Thursday evening during the Canadiens' pre-game on RDS. According to the team's game analyst, Kent Hughes inquired about the availability of Washington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov.
Long considered the team's goaltender of the future (for the Caps), Samsovov has seen his playing time significantly reduced this season due to the excellent performance of the Capitals' other goaltender, Vitek Vanecek.
The latter has better numbers, which could suggest that Capitals GM Brian MacLellan could be tempted to trade him (and acquire a guy like Fleury).
And since there's never smoke without fire, two Capitals scouts were spotted at the Bell Center during Thursday night's game against the Blues.
Do you see Kent Hughes acquiring Ilya Samsonov?
Good note from Marc-Antoine Godin. Not the first time the Capitals have two scouts in Montreal. https://t.co/dI6CIcH4SGJF Chaumont (@JFCchaumontJDM) February 18, 2022
