During his new segment on TVA Sports, Dany Dubé, analyst for Montreal Canadiens games, spoke about Patrik Laine.

He made a big statement about Laine.
According to him, as reported by the site DansLesCoulisses, he does not expect the Finnish forward to finish the season with the Canadiens.
That's what we all think, but Dany Dubé confirms this strong possibility.

Patrik Laine will not finish the season with the Montreal Canadiens, according to Dany Dubé

See an excerpt from his comments and explanations.
"Dubé therefore expects that Laine will eventually have to give up his spot in the lineup to Joe Veleno.

This idea is far from far-fetched.

As a center, Veleno can help in the faceoff circle and is capable of being much more involved than Laine.

Laine's $8.7 million per season contract also weighs heavily in the balance.

That's a lot of money for a fourth line.

That's why Dubé believes that by the end of the season, the Finnish forward will no longer be part of the Canadiens lineup."

- Comments by Dany Dubé
A statement that may very well come true, especially if the 27-year-old veteran continues to be invisible.
Due to the arrival of Zachary Bolduc, Laine's ice time on the power play has significantly decreased, and we know that he scored the majority of his goals in 2024-2025 with a man advantage.
Dubé also mentioned that he expects Laine will eventually have to give up his spot to Joe Veleno in the lineup, and since the Veleno is likely to be more useful in several aspects of the game, Patrik Laine's days in Montreal may already be numbered.
We're also awaiting medical confirmation, as Patrik Laine is currently injured and the team is assessing the severity of his injury.
