This announcement surprised many, as some thought his season was long over given how invisible he was on the ice during the 64 games he played with the team this season.
Joking aside, former head coach of the Laval Rocket, Joel Bouchard, stated on Tuesday night on the JiC show on TVA Sports that the American was one of the most difficult players to evaluate.
It is hoped that Kent Hughes was able to form an idea about his forward, compared to Bouchard, who does not necessarily seem to see a long-term future for Dvorak with the Habs.
One thing is certain, GM Kent Hughes will have to start planning the future of his team and see if Dvorak has a place in it or not. If not, Hughes will have to try to trade him.
As for Bouchard, his statement definitely says a lot about where he sees Dvorak in terms of his future with the Habs.
However, it will be a difficult task as Dvorak will have two more seasons on his contract after the current season, which will earn him an average of $4.5 million. With the performances he had this season and his knee surgery, Hughes will probably have to wait before being able to get rid of his forward.
The 27-year-old centerman accumulated 10 goals and 18 assists for a total of 28 points this season.
