Big statement from Kent Hughes regarding the future of his goalies ahead of the trade deadline

Earlier today, Habs GM Kent Hughes was present at a press conference to answer questions from reporters, particularly regarding the Ben Chiarot trade.

But, as you can imagine, several other issues were discussed.

Also, Hughes was asked about his intentions regarding his guards. Remember that Jake Allen's name has come up a lot in trade rumors, especially in the last few days.

Probably because of the uncertainty regarding the health of goaltender Carey Price (especially in the long term), the CH GM was very clear: he does not intend to trade a goaltender before next Monday night.

This means that Hughes plans to finish the season with Carey Price, Jake Allen, Samuel Montembeault and Andrew Hammond. That's pretty surprising, but that would be the plan. (to keep all four goalies)

Because of the many question marks and the fact that there is no press (Allen is still signed beyond this season), Hughes wants to keep depth at the goalie position.

Do you agree with this strategy?

Then expect Jake Allen to be in Montreal again next Tuesday.
