At the beginning of the season, many CH fans were salivating over the upcoming trade deadline. They saw Kent Hughes selling big with Sean Monahan, Evgenii Dadonov, Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman, Joel Armia and even Joel Edmundson. Injuries and bad performances will have changed the situation.
Of all these players, the one most likely to leave the organization would be none other than Evgenii Dadonov, according to Arpon Basu. A professional scout would have told him that the Russian forward could be of interest to some formations that will not have succeeded in their A and B plans.
In 46 games this season with the CH, the forward has accumulated 4 goals and 13 assists for a total of 17 points. He is currently in the final year of his contract, earning an average of $5 million per season. Kent Hughes could very well hold on to that $5M until the end of the season to make sure he at least gets something for himself.
