Big last-minute statement from Alex Newhook
In the final seconds, on the very day of signing his new contract with the Montreal Canadiens, young Alex Newhook answered questions from journalists at a press conference.
He made an excellent first impression.
He particularly mentioned that his relationship with Kent Hughes dates back to when he played with the General Manager's son in the junior ranks.
He also added that he has no preference between playing center or wing. He can do both and will do whatever Martin St. Louis wants for the organization's success.
Newhook also added that he is extremely eager to play for a coach like St. Louis and to demonstrate everything he can do offensively.
"I have much more to offer than what I've shown over the past two years."
He also revealed that negotiations began about ten days ago. So, things were settled quickly.
There is also this:
Finally, Newhook revealed that he already knows Justin Barron, Cole Caufield, Kaiden Guhle, and Kirby Dach.
