We told you about it earlier this week, but it's now official and confirmed: the Canadiens' young defenseman Sami Niku is leaving Montreal.
The 25 year old defenseman has just signed with the JYP club in Liiga (best league in Finland) and the team has just published a video to confirm the announcement, via their social networks.
Niku, an offensive defenseman, has played 67 games in the NHL and has 16 points with the Jets and the Canadiens. (6 points in 13 games in Montreal)
In 2021-22, he also had 13 points in 36 games with the Laval Rocket during the season, but a solid 11 points in 15 playoff games.
Check out this great video:
Good luck for next year to Sami Niku!
