Renowned insider Pierre LeBrun of TSN has just dropped major news concerning the Montreal Canadiens and the trade market.
"The Montreal Canadiens (Kent Hughes) are open to trading their second first-round pick in 2023, which belongs to the Florida Panthers."
This pick has even already been offered to some teams for specific players. (like
Pierre-Luc Dubois?)
Let's remember that Kent Hughes is targeting young players who are established in the NHL. (in short, he's aiming for a trade similar to the
Kirby Dach deal)
He won't trade this pick for a 28 or 29-year-old player.
Check out what LeBrun had to add:
So don't be surprised if this pick is traded before the draft. Wow!
Interesting fact. It's really heading to be the 13th overall pick, exactly the same rank as the pick used to acquire Kirby Dach last summer.
