Despite playing less than 11 minutes last night, young Juraj Slafkovsky made a positive impact against the Toronto Maple Leafs in his first career National Hockey League game.
Many pundits and excellent connoisseurs, such as Bob Hartley and Guy Boucher, noted that Slafkovsky quietly had a good game, including small sequences that went unnoticed.
One of the sequences described involved the young Slovak, along with Leafs star Auston Matthews, as Slafkovsky made a solid defensive play at the expense of #34.
We found the footage:
For an 18 year old to see him physically neutralize one of the most formidable players in the entire NHL like that is no small feat!
We can't wait to see him again tomorrow.
