The case of Logan Mailloux is the subject of much discussion, especially with his absence from the rookie camp. He is still injured and cannot join the club's prospects who are currently participating in a small tournament in Buffalo.
It will be interesting to follow the progress of the young man when, according to four people from the Montreal organization who were contacted by Marc-Andre Perreault, the young defenseman would be nothing less than the best defensive prospect for the Montreal Canadiens.
An important statement that is not unanimous, especially because of Kaiden Guhle, who is also a very bright young defenseman and very promising.
It seems that the CH has a gem in their prospect pool, but the talk about him is, for the most part, only for his act that he did as a youngster. Without minimizing his action, Mailloux has paid his debt and proven that he regrets it. Now we can move on to talk about why the CH drafted him, which is his talent.
Clearly, with statements like this one from the excellent Marc-Andre Perreault, it speaks volumes about Mailloux's bright future in the hockey world.
The young man will have to prove this season, with the London Knights in the OHL, that he can dominate and most importantly, stay healthy, if he wants to receive a contract from the CH. The organization has until June 1, 2023 to come to an agreement with its first round pick in the 2021 draft, otherwise the CH could get its hands on a second round pick.
