On Monday night, the Edmonton Oils Kings, led by Canadian prospect Kaiden Guhle, won the WHL championship and confirmed their presence at the Memorial Cup tournament.
The defenseman who was the CH's first round pick in the 2020 draft (16th overall) had a great playoff run and was named the spring tournament's MVP. He scored 8 goals (a team record for a defenseman in the playoffs), 8 assists for a total of 16 points in 19 games.
If his offensive aspect has been noticed, his defensive game has also been noticed. The young 20 year old did not hesitate, throughout the playoffs, to get out his shoulders and distribute solid checks.
After seeing this video, it's hard not to look forward to seeing him in the blue-white-red uniform in the near future. He will definitely get his chance with the big club next fall, if not, we can follow him closely with the Laval Rocket!
