In the last few hours, there were many whispers that Ottawa Sens general manager Pierre Dorion was actively trying to make a deal, especially to add a defenseman.
According to reports from Sportsnet's excellent Elliotte Friedman, Dorion and the Sens were reportedly successful, and they completed a trade, but the whole thing was called off because the player involved did not want to go play in Ottawa.
Friedman adds that this is the kind of situation that could unfortunately happen more frequently for Canadian teams, as more and more players put Canadian teams, first, on their no-trade list. It's really unfortunate.
We don't have any more info on the trade in question or the defenseman involved, but one thing is for sure, the search for a good defenseman continues for Ottawa on the trade market.
