Pierre-Luc Dubois Disrespected by His Own Head Coach After Terrible Game
We've talked about it a few times, but to say the least, Pierre-Luc Dubois is really not having the start he hoped for with the Los Angeles Kings.
After being acquired by LA in a transaction (at a very high price) and after signing a big contract there, Dubois is constantly criticized for his lack of production and effort.
Dubois, 25, has accumulated 19 points in 44 games this season, his worst so far. (a differential of -13, which is by far the worst among the Kings)
Things are bad.
After signing an 8-season deal for a total of 68 million with the Californian organization last summer, Dubois is (really) not playing up to expectations.
He is often pointed out by Kings fans, but also more recently by some observers, but especially his head coach.
Veteran Todd McLellan had a lot to say about the center, often known for his lack of consistency:
Asked Todd McLellan what he's seeing from PL Dubois without the puck:
«At the end of the day whether PL gets four minutes or gets 24 minutes he has to be a difference maker. And with or without the puck we've gone through this long enough it's time»
It gets worse:
"Todd McLellan has had enough of Pierre-Luc Dubois." - Via TVA Sports
It will be interesting to see what happens next, but things could quickly get worse, especially as it's already starting to escalate even in the media.
