The Red Wings have just made a sad announcement regarding Jeff Petry and it's officially over for him as a regular
In the last few minutes, the Detroit Red Wings have once again announced bad news for Jeff Petry.
Once again, he is removed from the lineup and sent to the stands.
He is replaced in the lineup by former Maple Leaf,
Justin Holl.
IN - JUSTIN HOLL
OUT - JEFF PETRY (healthy scratch)
It's becoming increasingly apparent that, even with retained salary, Petry was probably not the best investment for the Red Wings.
He is their 6th or 7th defenseman.
The 35-year-old defenseman is not what he used to be, but he seems to accept his new role. It's clearly over for him as a regular, but he is a good veteran support.
It's sad to see how much it has fallen for him in a short time, but that's the reality of an NHL player.
