Fan-Favorite Leaves Montreal Canadiens, Lands One-Year Deal With the Colorado Avalanche

We have a personnel move to announce, involving the Montreal Canadiens.
Forward Alex Barré-Boulet, who began the most recent season with the Canadiens and in Martin St-Louis' lineup, is heading to the Colorado Avalanche.
Clearly, Kent Hughes decided he no longer wanted him, as the Avalanche's offer wasn't exactly one that would have been hard to match or beat.
Alex Barré-Boulet signs a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche
It's a deal that will pay him $775,000 in the National Hockey League, $475,000 in the American Hockey League, with $500,000 guaranteed.
Alex Barré-Boulet, 28 years old, is a 5-foot-10, 178-pound Quebec-born forward from Montmagny, who tallied 63 points in 64 games this season with the Laval Rocket.
Quietly, this is a significant loss for the Canadiens' AHL affiliate, as Barré-Boulet finished first in scoring for the Laval Rocket.
The forward has a total of 18 points in 70 career NHL games, including 12 goals, and played two games with the Montreal Canadiens this season.
The Rocket has now officially confirmed the departure of their top forward.
