The Avs have just made a sad announcement regarding Joe Drouin and it's officially over for him within the top nine
It's really unfortunate, honestly.
At the start of the season, there were high hopes for the former Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin, who was lined up with star players Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
He even racked up a point in his first period of play with the Colorado Avalanche.
Some experts were predicting 60 or even 70 points for him this season.
Unfortunately, since then, things have gotten really tough for Jonathan Drouin.
He hasn't scored a point since the first period of the first game of the season (he has one point in 8 games) and he is still searching for his very first goal with his new team.
And his lack of offensive contribution has had consequences.
He recently moved from the 1st to the 2nd line, and now things have gotten even worse.
Today, Drouin was among the five players training on the Avalanche's 4th line.
This means that he will either be set aside and removed from the lineup, or placed on the fourth line.
Ouch.
See the result.
"Today's Avalanche lines.
Lehkonen - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Tufte - Johansen - Nichushkin
Wood - Colton - LOC
MacDermid - Cogliano - Tatar - Olofsson - Drouin are all on the fourth line, in grey."
Via Brennan Vogt
Artturi Lehkonen has thus taken his place on the 1st line again. It didn't last long.
We sincerely hope that things work out for Jonathan with his fresh start; he has
so much talent. It's sad to see how.
