Erik Karlsson may have just had his best career season in the NHL, potentially winning his third Norris trophy in a few days. Despite the troubles of the San Jose Sharks, the 33-year-old defender racked up an impressive total of 25 goals and 76 assists (101 points) in 82 games.

Despite a completely dominant year, the Sharks have reportedly made a very surprising decision about his future in San Jose. Indeed, according to information reported by Pierre Lebrun during his Insider Trading segment on TSN, the organization would like to trade the Swedish defender this summer.


The Sharks' general manager, Mike Grier, would even be ready to retain a significant portion of his $11.5 million salary to facilitate a transaction. According to Pierre Lebrun, many teams would be interested in acquiring the defender.
