Even though the Carolina Hurricanes are among the best teams in the NHL this season, a rather surprising rumor has mentioned that forward Martin Necas could be on the market as the trade deadline approaches.
As reported by GoNordiques.com, the team's GM Don Waddell is looking for reinforcements for the playoffs, especially in goal.
Since he is having an excellent season, ranking third in scoring for the Hurricanes behind Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis, his salary demands could be too high, and Waddell might take advantage of this to trade him to another team.
Obviously, after acquiring Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook over the past two years, the logical next step would be to bring Necas to Montreal.
However, it is clear that the Hurricanes' demands are likely to be very high, and the Canadiens' organization would not want to part with established players or quality prospects either.
