Even though the Canadiens had some success a few weeks ago, it is more likely that Kent Hughes will be among the sellers at the trade deadline.
At least, that's what Pierre LeBrun mentioned in a recent column published on the The Athletic website.
A proposed trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets involving Jake Evans
Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff is reportedly looking for a forward as well as a defenseman to add depth to his team.
The organization is particularly interested in finding a center to fill the void left by
Adam Lowry, who was recently injured for an indefinite period. A player like Jake Evans would be an ideal candidate to help the Jets.
The Manitoba team is once again having a stellar season, and Winnipeg hockey fans are eager to see their team make a deep playoff run, something that hasn't happened in quite some time.
Additionally, according to some experts, Cheveldayoff could be one of the most active general managers during the trade period and has already begun his shopping.
This will be a situation to watch between the Montreal Canadiens and the Winnipeg Jets regarding Evans.
Jake Evans and
Mark Scheifele as teammates would certainly be an interesting pairing, but more importantly, it would significantly strengthen the Manitoba team's center depth and penalty kill.
