We have some action on the NHL waiver wire this Super Bowl Sunday. We know that some Montreal Canadiens forwards will likely be traded in the coming weeks, unfortunately, so Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will eventually have to consider alternative solutions.
In short, two players are currently available for free, including a former Hab, and one player has also been claimed.
He was a second-round pick of the Florida Panthers in 2019 (52nd overall) and has five points in 23 games this season with Utah HC.
During his last two stints in the AHL, he recorded 11 points in 36 games and 21 points in 71 games.

That's exactly what Friedman just reported.
He was the 33rd overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015 (2nd round) and has 19 points in 120 career NHL games.
During his most recent AHL stints, he recorded 8 points in 18 games and 35 points in 49 games, with the Laval Rocket, no less.
Stephens indeed played 23 games with the Montreal Canadiens during the 2023-2024 season, collecting three points with the Habs.
Andreas Englund, 29 years old, is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound defenseman who was a 2nd-round pick by the Ottawa Senators in 2014.
He has 18 points in 173 career NHL games, along with 152 penalty minutes.
