As you know, Kent Hughes won his bet by trading Sean Monahan to the Winnipeg Jets earlier this month.

Not only did he get a first-round pick in the next draft, but he somehow enabled the forward to rejuvenate his career, and the latter is expected to sign a lucrative contract after the season, being an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
That said, I won't discuss the chances of Monahan returning to the Canadiens in 2024-2025, but rather about two hometown prospects that Kent Hughes could very well draft with the pick obtained from the Jets.
As reported by Samuel Doiron, from Habsolumentfan.com, the Jets' pick is expected to be a late first-rounder due to the team's excellent season.
Indeed, two players from Quebec might be available when Kent Hughes speaks for the second time in the first round of the next draft, which will take place in Las Vegas next June.
They are forwards Sacha Boisvert and Maxime Massé.
In the case of Boisvert, who plays for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, he is ranked 22nd by the renowned Bob McKenzie, while Craig Button, TSN's prospect expert, has him at 30th on his list.
In 38 games this year, the center from Trois-Rivières has scored 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points.
As for Massé, who has accumulated 56 points this season, including 27 goals with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in the QMJHL, is lower on McKenzie's list, 35th, but higher on Button's, at 23rd.
To give you a little idea of the talent of the two Quebecers, here is a clip of each of them:
Returning to the Canadiens, it is very logical to think that one of the two players will still be available when the team's turn comes because unless the Jets completely collapse, it is highly likely that this pick will be between the 20th and 32nd, if the Jets were to win the Stanley Cup, of course.
That said, it is evident that some fans will hope that Kent Hughes chooses one of the two forwards, otherwise, we could witness a barrage of insults on social media towards the organization.
