Earlier this week, we discussed Madden's statement, where he revealed that a trade involving Kris Letang was negotiated between the Canadiens and the Penguins, at Letang's request.
Kent Hughes, therefore, attempted to bring the Montreal native back to Montreal, and, additionally, Letang is a former client of the Canadiens' general manager.
In the last few hours, TVA Sports added more to the story by publishing an article on the subject.
This is a big scoop from Madden.
You can find the exact statement right here.
The full excerpt is also very interesting.
It will be fascinating to see if these discussions can resume, especially if the Pittsburgh Penguins miss the playoffs again in 2025 and if the Montreal Canadiens are in contention.
However, we have to admit that Kris Letang's new contract makes it very difficult for a href='https://www.nhl.com/fr/canadiens/team/kent-hughes' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Kent Hughes to acquire him.
It may already be too late for Letang, but kudos to him for wanting to play for the Montreal Canadiens. He would have been excellent for the young players and would have been a great help in surprising the league this season.
