Trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Dallas? Juicy scoop by David Pagnotta
David Pagnotta has just released a rare juicy piece of information, right in the middle of July, about a possible transaction for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens.
It is rare to see this at this stage of the off-season, but TVA Sports AND David Pagnotta have just published developments regarding a potential trade involving Canadiens defenseman David Savard.
"Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard is reportedly of interest to at least three teams in the Western Conference.
The Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets are all linked to the 33-year-old defenseman." - Via TVA Sports and David Pagnotta
So, it looks like there is movement in this case.
A trade involving David Savard for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens?
He has just been placed 10th among the players most likely to be traded in the National Hockey League in the coming weeks.
David Savard is under contract for just one more season with the Canadiens, with his four-season contract (3.5 million dollars per year) coming to an end. He is in high demand in the league.
It remains to be seen when the Gorton/Hughes duo will decide that the presence of the mentor for several young players in the organization will no longer be essential.
Savard could really be an ideal partner for a Logan Mailloux or a Lane Hutson next season, so personally, I would keep him, unless the price is really worth it.
More details to follow.
