Martin Necas trade to the Canadiens: A major offer has reportedly been made
We have new developments in the potential trade of Martin Necas to the Montreal Canadiens or elsewhere.
According to TVA Sports and the renowned Pierre LeBrun, a significant offer has been made to the Carolina Hurricanes and could indeed be accepted.
«The situation surrounding Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas appears to be nearing a conclusion.
According to Pierre LeBrun, journalist and insider for The Athletic, an unidentified team has an offer on the table that practically meets all of the Canes' demands.»
- Via TVA Sports
An offer that could possibly be accepted at any moment.
The Montreal Canadiens are still among the few teams in the race to acquire Martin Necas via trade
It must be said that Kent Hughes is among the few executives who still have the necessary cap space today under the NHL salary cap to welcome the Hurricanes forward.
«While Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas could very well end up with the New Jersey Devils, I continue to hear that the Montreal Canadiens are still very much involved in the Necas situation.»
- Jimmy Murphy
This is therefore a major case that we continue to monitor closely. It could (finally) be resolved soon.
This is happening in the context of the 2024 NHL Draft negotiations, so it's no surprise if solid trade foundations are already in place.
Kent Hughes has not yet acquired his sought-after young top-6 forward, so he will obviously continue to try.
