Just a few days before the NHL trade deadline, Quebec forward Anthony Mantha is traded from the Washington Capitals to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Nevada team quickly capitalizes on the magical cap space of nearly 10 million dollars created under the NHL salary cap, now that Mark Stone has been placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR).
Mantha, 29, has accumulated 34 points in 56 games this season, including twenty goals. He has scored more goals than Alex Ovechkin and was the Capitals' second-highest goal scorer.
Over his NHL career, he has totaled 139 goals and 286 points in 476 games.
