The Quebecois forward Pierre-Luc Dubois has just been traded. The rumors were indeed true, and the Los Angeles Kings had already had enough of Dubois.
He has just been traded to the Washington Capitals.
Pierre-Luc Dubois traded to the Washington Capitals for goalie Darcy Kuemper
The trade market is officially open, ladies and gentlemen!
«Transaction!
Pierre-Luc Dubois will be traded again, this time to the Washington Capitals!
Things are really moving today!!» - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
It's a one-for-one trade, Pierre-Luc Dubois for Darcy Kuemper.
«The trade is one-for-one: Pierre-Luc Dubois for Kuemper. No salary retained.» - Pierre LeBrun
Dubois' contract is now officially fully taken over by the Washington Capitals. It's an 8.5 million dollar per year contract, valid until 2031.
This is a big decision by the Caps!
Dubois will thus start his 8th season in the NHL with his fourth different team.
«The transaction is therefore Pierre-Luc Dubois vs Darcy Kuemper, one for one.
The Kings needed a goalie and no longer wanted Dubois' contract. Not sure if Kuemper really solves the problem, but oh well! They were probably in on Markstrom so they turned to Kuemper after he left for New Jersey.
The Caps, on the other hand, had a huge need at center. But PLD will cost the Caps $8,500,000 for another 7 years while Kuemper will cost the Kings $5,250,000 for the next 3 seasons.» - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
A very thorough analysis here.
Details will follow.
