The Montreal Canadiens' training camp opened this week, and the news is rather good when it comes to Kirby Dach.

Jeff Gorton told the Montreal media that the big right-shot center should be in place for the Canadiens' first game of the season scheduled for early October.
However, there is still the question of whether Kirby Dach will be the official second-line center to start the upcoming season, and now an NHL team could raise its hand to try to acquire him.
As reported by the site DansLesCoulisses, insider Marco D'Amico stated during an episode of The Shaun Starr Show podcast that the Calgary Flames would have interest in the Canadiens' number 77.
A bit like the Canadiens, Flames general manager Craig Conroy would love to add a player like Kirby Dach to his lineup.

The Flames Are Reportedly Interested in Acquiring Kirby Dach via Trade

We're talking about a big right-shot center with giant size who still has enormous offensive potential.
Unfortunately, since being acquired by the Canadiens in the summer of 2022, Dach has been injured more often than not, being limited to 117 games over three seasons in Montreal.
D'Amico also mentions in the podcast that many Tricolore fans have thrown in the towel on him and would like Kent Hughes to be more active on the trade market in the coming weeks.
And according to you, would it be a mistake to trade Kirby Dach (to a club like the Calgary Flames) at this point?
