A journalist has just mentioned the possibility that the Montreal Canadiens could trade Patrik Laine in order to free up cap space.
Lyle Richardson, who writes for Bleacher Report, suggested that Kent Hughes could move the Finnish forward's $8.7 million salary to create more financial flexibility-particularly to help absorb
Noah Dobson's contract.
"It could be interesting to monitor his status as a potential trade candidate if the Canadiens decide to clear cap space for other moves."

Indeed, the summer is far from over!
A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the San Jose Sharks involving Patrik Laine and 100% of his contract? Richardson just floated the idea
It's a scenario that has been proposed by B/R.
Of course, they would need to find a team willing to take on that hefty salary, and the site identified the San Jose Sharks as a potential landing spot.
More importantly, the team has plenty of cap space and seems ready to add more established players, as shown by their recent signings of
Dmitry Orlov and
Nick Leddy.
Plus, they need a player with a strong shot to help boost their power play..
So, what do you think of the idea?
Would you be willing to trade Patrik Laine to the San Jose Sharks in order to set up a potential bigger move later this summer?
