Intriguing trade announced by Patrick Roy's Islanders and the Hawks
The New York Islanders have completed an intriguing trade with the Chicago Blackhawks.
As journalist Chris Johnston reported, the Islanders have added an additional second-round pick in next month's draft, sending the #18 and #50 picks to Chicago in exchange for the #20, #54, and #61 picks.
This means that two first-round picks are involved.
It is extremely rare to see this kind of trade concluded a month before the draft, so many experts believe that something bigger is being prepared here.
This type of trade usually happens on the draft floor, depending on the players available, so there is certainly a very specific reason why the two general managers involved wanted to finalize this trade now.
