The difficult season Kirby Dach is experiencing is tiring not only some Canadiens fans but also certain members of the media.
This includes
Georges Laraque, who hasn't hesitated to criticize number 77 since the start of the season.
Whether it's about his offensive production or his involvement, the former NHL enforcer recently made another statement about him on
BPM Sports radio.
Alongside Stéphane Gonzalez, Laraque said he was tired of always talking about Dach for the wrong reasons and suggested Kent Hughes should look for another center to play on the second line.
Kirby Dach.. I'm so tired of talking about him all the time.
At some point, it's certain the team knows what's going on with him.
The Canadiens need to get a center, not just for Laine, but for Demidov, who's coming soon. Because you don't want to mess up Demidov-you'll need to make sure he's well surrounded.
The Canadiens will have to take risks, wether it's Cozens or someone else.
- Georges Laraque
In fact, the two hosts discussed the possibility that the Canadiens could target
Buffalo Sabres center
Dylan Cozens, even though Laraque mentioned he wouldn't go after him.
Like Kirby Dach, the Sabres forward is not having a strong offensive season, having only tallied 15 points in 34 games so far this season.
However, he had an excellent campaign in 2022-2023, scoring 31 goals for a total of 68 points in 81 games.
That said, we're not suggesting that a one-for-one trade between Cozens and Dach is in the works, but rather emphasizing the point that players like Patrik Laine and, eventually, Ivan Demidov, will need a quality center.
This is an excellent point.
