Yesterday, during the duel between the Habs and the Hurricanes at the Bell Centre, journalist Renaud Lavoie made a big statement involving Kent Hughes and Martin Necas.

Lavoie seems to believe more in a trade rather than another offer sheet at least for the moment, but it remains very interesting to see him link his name to the Canadiens.
Necas certainly has the profile to be the next Kirby Dach or Alex Newhook for Kent Hughes.
Necas, 25 years old, is a 6-foot-2-inch and 189-pound center who can also excel on the wing.
He is a 12th overall pick in 2017 (1st round) and he has 52 points, including 23 goals, in 70 games this season. He was drafted just one pick before a certain Nick Suzuki.
Last year, he had a very solid 71 points, including 28 goals, in 82 games.
The one who will be a restricted free agent this summer (RFA) has the absolutely ideal profile of a young player already excellent and who could blossom even more. The ceiling of Martin Necas is not yet known.
