A very interesting acquisition for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens has just been proposed. We're talking about acquiring star defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders, a solution put forward by Simon Boisvert.
We know that the Canadiens will have the means to make a big acquisition this summer.
An offer sheet for Noah Dobson by the Montreal Canadiens and Kent Hughes?
This is an interesting solution to wisely use all the cap space Hughes will have available.
«But if the Canadiens' GM wants to take things even further, he could consider making an offer sheet, and in that case, there is one player in particular who has caught Simon Boisvert's attention.
The Snake, in the latest episode of Processus, talks about the idea of going after Noah Dobson in New York.»

Interesting proposal from The Snake: The Canadiens could submit an offer sheet to the Islanders for Noah Dobson this summer.
In the case of such an offer sheet, as Boisvert explains well, if we're talking about a contract in the range of $9 to $11 million per year (long-term), it would cost the Habs the following in terms of compensation:
- Two 1st-round draft picks (2026 and 2027)
- One 2nd-round draft pick
- One 3rd-round draft pick
This means the Montreal Canadiens' 2025 first-round pick would not need to be given up.
If the Canadiens' first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 end up outside the top 15, this could become an interesting proposition.
And you, do you like the idea?
