There you go! Kent Hughes just completed his 2023 trade with Kirby Dach by acquiring the highly promising Alex Newhook.

Newhook is a center player with incredible skating ability, great intelligence on both sides of the ice, promising potential, and high offensive capabilities.

Solid transaction! Here's the official announcement:

"The Canadiens acquire the rights to forward Alex Newhook from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Montreal's 31st (acquired from Florida) and 37th overall picks in the 2023 draft, along with defenseman Gianni Fairbrother.»

Ironically, he's exactly the kind of player the Winnipeg Jets would have wanted in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois.
