We know that the Avalanche have been interested in Monahan for a while, but would their management be willing to let the young Ritchie go?
That's the question, but it could definitely be an interesting catch for Kent Hughes.
Ritchie, 19 years old, is a 6 foot 2 inches center who was drafted 27th overall by the Avalanche in 2023 (first round). Several experts even saw him potentially being drafted top 15!
He has accumulated 47 points, including 16 goals, in 28 games this season in the OHL and he is developing very well so far.

It's certain that Ritchie is more advanced in his development, compared to a 2024 or 2025 first-round pick that Kent Hughes could also acquire elsewhere.
