Major trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Anaheim Ducks for Trevor Zegras? Kent Hughes should inquire according to JiC

Since the Anaheim Ducks acquired young forward Cutter Gauthier from the Philadelphia Flyers, several trade rumors involving Trevor Zegras have been put forward by many, with a good number of these rumors involving the Canadiens.

It must be said that the name of the Ducks' first pick in 2019 has been circulating a lot in recent months, notably due to a contractual dispute with his team that was finally resolved just before the start of the season.

However, Zegras has not helped himself much since the start of the season with a modest haul of only seven points, including four goals in 20 games, and now he will be sidelined from the game, likely for an indefinite period.

That said, this does not prevent the more optimistic from thinking that Kent Hughes could be interested in the specialist of the Michigan Goal, but despite the enthusiasm of some, a popular TV host has been rather cautious with this file.

In an article recently published on the TVA Sports website, Jean-Charles Lajoie expressed himself on a possible trade involving Trevor Zegras and he said he was open to Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton getting involved in a potential derby, but not at any price.

Lajoie cited an example at the end of the article, as follows:

"Surely they would listen if Montreal came with Kaiden Guhle and a second-round pick for Zegras' services.

The thing is, I highly doubt that the CH would make such an offer. In fact, I myself wouldn't do it."

Let's just say that it makes things clear and let's remember last summer when we learned that the Winnipeg Jets demanded a Kaiden Guhle and a Kirby Dach in a market involving Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Obviously, with the difficult season that the Quebecer is experiencing in Los Angeles this year, it's not hard to imagine that the answer will probably be no.

In any case, according to Renaud Lavoie, the Ducks are not looking to trade Trevor Zegras and if he ever became available, the price to pay would certainly be quite high.
