Major statement on a possible trade involving Jonathan Drouin and a target has been identified
The intense Tuesday in the NHL put us in the final stretch, on the margins of the trade deadline. Although Kent Hughes has only made one move, his phone has certainly not stopped ringing.
He must surely be trying to trade Joel Edmundson, Sean Monahan, Mike Hoffman and Jonathan Drouin, to name a few.
Regarding the Quebecois player, many, including Renaud Lavoie, believe that he has been on display for a few games now. Indeed, Drouin has been placed at center on the second line with Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Josh Anderson. As Lavoie said before Tuesday night's game, this is certainly not a coincidence.
"This is his third consecutive game at center. But now, in addition, we're giving him Harvey-Pinard and Anderson as wingers. It's much easier for him, so to speak."
"Every time we put RHP on a line, it goes well. So it's no coincidence that we're pairing him with Drouin. It's crystal clear that number 27 is on display and that we want to trade him by Friday at 3 p.m." - Renaud Lavoie
A bold statement!
Drouin has been having excellent moments for some time now. Even though he hasn't been able to score, he has still accumulated 12 assists in his last 16 games. He could certainly be very useful in feeding a natural scorer on a team in contention for the championship.
A targeted destination
Regarding this, the renowned Frank Seravalli sees Drouin fitting in well with his former teammate, Nathan MacKinnon, on the Colorado Avalanche.
The journalist strongly believes that the Quebecois player will be a bargain and that the price to acquire him will not be enormous. The good relationship that Hughes has with Colorado, as seen in the Artturi Lehkonen trade last year, could make things easier.
Exciting stuff! What's your prediction?
