Major: five names have reportedly been placed on the trade market, including a surprise
Clearly, there's already a lot of movement behind the scenes and on the National Hockey League's trade market.
Five players are reportedly officially on the trade market, including a name you know well and a surprise.
First, according to what the reputable Darren Dreger reported on TSN, the Ottawa Senators are currently trying to trade two players, namely
Mathieu Joseph and
Erik Brannstrom. (to make cap space to sign their young center
Shane Pinto)
There's also young defenseman
Adam Boqvist from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
And finally, there is Montreal Canadiens' center player
Christian Dvorak, who is taking his sweet time returning to the game, is not really essential to the club's future success, and who might bring a surprisingly interesting return. (recall Arpon Basu's proposition of Dvorak vs
Isak Rosen with Buffalo)
This will really be interesting to watch.
1- Joseph, 26 years old, has accumulated 2 points in a single game this season, and 18 points in 56 games last season.
2- Brannstrom, 24 years old, accumulated 18 points in 74 games last season. He is a mobile and dynamic offensive defenseman, who was drafted 15th overall in 2017 (1st round).
3- Garland, 27 years old, scored 1 goal in 1 game this season and 46 points in 81 games last season.
4- Boqvist, 23 years old, was an 8th overall pick in 2018 and he accumulated 24 points in 46 games last season with Columbus.
5- Finally, Dvorak, 27 years old, accumulated 28 points in 64 games last season with the Montreal Canadiens. He is a reliable center player and strong in the face-off circle.
The surprise is certainly here with young Boqvist, who still seems very promising. Will Kent Hughes make a call to Columbus?
