Last minute surprise development regarding a possible imminent trade involving Christian Dvorak
On this day of the NHL trade deadline, rumors are plentiful, and the Montreal Canadiens are no exception.
The most common names being mentioned are Joel Edmundson, Josh Anderson, and Jonathan Drouin, but it seems that another name is truly in play.
Dvorak possibly traded today?
See what just came out:
"Frank Seravalli mentioned this morning that the Habs had received calls from several teams about the availability of Christian Dvorak.
This will be another interesting story to follow today!"
Marc-Olivier Beaudoin via Frank Seravalli Hughes is in discussions for a possible trade involving Dvorak, and it could obviously happen by 3 p.m. today.
A surprise for Dvorak
Due to the injury suffered by Sean Monahan, General Manager Kent Hughes could certainly adjust and fall back on Dvorak in order to get one or more valuable draft picks in 2023.
This is a surprise because the rumors involving Dvorak have been very quiet for the past few weeks, but it has suddenly picked up with force.
There is a lot of smoke in this situation right now.
The Colorado Avalanche, the Buffalo Sabres, and possibly the Minnesota Wild are the teams that could be interested in Dvorak.
Another point that favors a transaction involving Dvorak: there are practically no good centermen available on the market, so the price is going up and Hughes has the upper hand. (which is excellent for the Habs)
Dvorak, 27 years old, has 27 points in 61 games this season with the CH. He earns $4.45 million per season until 2025.
He was acquired by the Tricolore in September 2021 for a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick.
More details will follow! A story to follow closely today.
