In the last few minutes and the day after the major trade announced involving Montreal and Pittsburgh, the Penguins' general manager, Kyle Dubas, has just made a big statement about Kent Hughes.
That speaks volumes.
Regarding yesterday's trade, Dubas outright stated that he was very impressed by Kent Hughes.
Wow. It's very rare to see that.
In fact, Dubas held his press conference today to reflect on the three-team major trade announced yesterday (unlike the CH, interestingly) and he actually took a moment to praise Kent Hughes's merits.
"And it's not just in Montreal that the work of the Tricolore's GM is recognized: during his press conference today, Kyle Dubas admitted that he was really impressed by Hughes during recent negotiations.
He already had a lot of respect for the Canadiens' GM before concluding the transaction involving Petry, but he gained even more yesterday.
He talks about it around the eighth minute of the press conference, which you can listen to in its entirety below." - DLC.com
Dubas mentioned that Hughes has a clear vision and direction for his organization, and he knows exactly what he wants.
Dubas added that he is convinced that the Canadiens made a solid move with this transaction. We love it!
