With his start to the season and the sample we have, we can say that Sean Monahan is one of the pillars of the attack for the Canadiens.

We can say without too much error that his acquisition in the summer of 2022 was a real steal on the part of Kent Hughes and the team's fans can count themselves lucky to have such a veteran in the lineup.
That said, we all know that number 91 is playing this season on a contract worth only $1.9 million and unless the Canadiens come back solidly into the playoff race picture by the trade deadline next March, the chances of seeing him change addresses are very good.
Several rumors have circulated that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins were interested in Monahan's services, but now two new teams could join the discussions with the CH.
As reported by the website Danslescoulisses.com, the renowned insider Pierre LeBrun, as well as his colleague Chris Johnston from The Athletic, played the game of predicting some trades that could occur at the trade deadline which will take place on March 8.
In the case of LeBrun, he sees Sean Monahan joining the Colorado Avalanche, while Johnston would rather see the Winnipeg Jets add the Canadiens veteran to their lineup.

Monahan joining Jonathan Drouin in Colorado?

The Avalanche are interesting, notably because of their connection with Kent Hughes. It wouldn't be the first trade between Kent Hughes and the Colorado GM, let's say!
The case of the Jets is rather interesting because the team is having quite a season and adding a player of Monahan's caliber would be beneficial to support the young forwards of the organization.
Let's just say it would add a bit of punch to their attack, which has some injuries.
Obviously, everything will depend on the situation of the Canadiens over the next few weeks, because if the team is still in the race for a playoff spot, one can wonder if the CH's general manager will still be interested in trading his center player.
