Utah makes historic first-ever acquisition announcement
In the last few seconds, Utah's hockey team announced the first signing in its history, and it's a forward already known there.
Noel Nordh has officially become the first player to be added to Utah's official roster, without ever having been on the "payroll" of the Arizona Coyotes.
Congratulations to him, who marks the history of this franchise in his own way.
Noel Nordh becomes the first player in history to sign with Utah's team
Here's the official announcement.
«Utah's hockey club has signed its very first player in history, agreeing to a three-year entry-level contract with Noel Nordh.
The Coyotes' third-round pick in 2023 helped Brynas IF earn promotion to the SHL last season.» - Chris Johnston, TSN
Noel Nordh, 19 years old, was indeed the 72nd overall pick in 2023 (a third-round pick).
He is a 6'2", 194-pound forward, who accumulated 22 points in 15 games last season with Brynas' junior team. He added 16 points in professional play, in Sweden.
Noel Nordh thus becomes the "Reid Duke" of Utah, Duke being the first player in history to sign a contract with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017.
However, Duke never played a single game with the Golden Knights in the NHL and is now in Europe.
Details will follow.
