NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has found a new way to make headlines negatively following the 2024 draft.
A video from Friday has resurfaced and is generating a lot of buzz on social media.
It had gone somewhat unnoticed with all the intense action of the past few days in the NHL, but here it is again.
Gary Bettman reprimands a member of the New Jersey Devils live on national television for an unbuttoned shirt?
I've never seen such a scene in my life.
Watch the footage; it speaks for itself:
This happened during the Devils' 10th overall pick (in the first round), when they selected the giant defenseman Anton Silayev, who many saw as a top-3 overall pick.
«When the New Jersey members took to the podium in the Las Vegas sphere, Bettman had to scold one of the representatives.
Why?
Because the guy had his shirt slightly unbuttoned, which didn't sit well with dear Gary, who was caught on live television.» - Keven Mawn
Let's just say young Silayev was slightly upstaged on the podium by this rather unusual scene.
