While the topic of a new assistant coach for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens continues to surface, here is an interesting development.
Personally, I believe the current group is doing an excellent job, but many analysts keep revisiting the topic and proposing experienced coaches to support Martin St-Louis.
Pierre McGuire proposes the hiring of Gerard Gallant as an assistant coach for Martin St-Louis and the Montreal Canadiens
Interesting! Gallant, who was previously an assistant in Montreal and has 8 years of experience as a head coach in the NHL (along with a Jack Adams Award), would definitely be a major addition behind the bench.
Is such an addition necessary? That's for you to decide, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.
Gallant did indeed win the Jack Adams Award, given to the best head coach of the year in the NHL, in 2018 with the Vegas Golden Knights. He then led his team to the Stanley Cup Final.
There is a lot of speculation, but will there really be a dismissal behind the bench of the Montreal Canadiens this summer? Could Gerard Gallant be a good choice as an assistant?
To be continued, but many analysts seem to believe so.
