"Five former members of the 2018 Canadian junior hockey team, who have been criminally charged, will have a jury trial, reports the Globe and Mail.
The players, whose request for a jury trial was granted on Tuesday, will be tried together as a group.
It will take at least several months before a trial date is set.
"Earlier this week, the five players chose a jury trial and they are confident that jurors from the community will fairly and impartially decide this case after hearing all the evidence and testimony," wrote the lawyers representing the accused players, Globe journalist Robyn Doolittle in a joint statement."
