A young 22-year-old prospect passes away in a car accident
Here is a heartbreaking news that shatters the heart of the entire hockey planet. A young 22-year-old hockey player died in a car accident.
The young defenseman Craig Spence, aged 22, who played for the Blenheim Blades, has indeed died in a car accident. We are at a loss for words.
The tragedy took place on Highway 401 in Ontario.
Many hockey teams pay tribute to Craig Spence
Tributes are coming from everywhere.
"The Blades are saddened by the death of our captain Craig Spence. An incredible hockey player, a teammate, a brother, and an even more incredible person.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Craig's family and everyone who knew and loved him," said the Blades hockey club via Twitter.
Craig Spence was also known with the Mississauga Steelheads.
"The Steelheads are saddened to learn of the death of our former player Craig Spence. We wish to offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all those affected."
Many other teams have reacted via social media.
Clearly, Spence was very well-liked in the hockey world and was a well-known name in Ontario.
